Mach 3 in Argyle Leg Warmers

I just got back from Oregon to see my sister.  Ivie came.  I'm not gonna sugar coat it.  She sucked!  Oh yes-huh!  I look happy in that picture but do not be deceived, I was faking it.  That little girl is all kinds of koo-koo.  Even the kind that runs mach 3 in her argyle leg warmers and sparkly Target shoes, directly into the guy on the bike who swerves and hits a telephone pole spilling what looks like his recently purchased groceries into the gutter.  And she does this all while blindly pushing the stroller she was SUPPOSED to be strapped into (okay, my bad).  As you might imagine my sorry little apology didn't quite do the trick (pun totally intended).  I even tried that sheepish smile with the slightest head shake and shoulder shrug.  NOTHIN'!  And this was only the tip of the iceberg.

All was not totally lost though.  For beneath the many layers of resentment towards my 1 year old, I was really really happy to see my sister on her birthday.  We had a few less than traumatic moments of motherly-daughterly-sisterly bonding, the vast majority of which were brought on by my daughter's temporary lack of consciousness.  But in a nutshell, Ivie was a demon sporting a bam-bam pony.  I even pulled her hair once.  On purpose.  Because I was mad at her.  Oh yes, I did so.  Color me cynical but if anyone would have told me how wretched she would be on this trip, I would've told them to put the crack pipe down.

You gotta love a kid who can almost stuff an entire bagel down her throat in one try though.  So she's got that going for her.

I have to give that girl a lot of credit to already be knocking guys off their bikes. Maybe she felt emboldened by the tights - I've heard argyle makes everyone more daring. It was so nice to read this post - someone else has a WILD child too!

Seriously cute leg warmers. Oh, and don't worry, I pull Gwen's hair all of the time...and worse, because I'm a mean mom, and like to see Gwen cry...when she's about to make me cry. Anyway...fun trip huh?
